The reason for the revelation of Surat Al-Falaq

There were many sayings of the people of interpretation about the reason for the revelation of Surat Al-Falaq, so some of them said that the reason was the magic of the Prophet - upon him be peace and blessings - from Labid bin Al-Aasam, the Jew, when he was serving the Prophet - upon him be blessings and peace -, so the Jews came to him and incited him to his magic, so he took the Prophet's comb - upon him Peace and blessings be upon him, and he gave it to the Jews, and they bewitched him with it, so the Prophet - upon him be peace and blessings be upon him - fell ill after that, and the hair of his head was scattered, and he imagined something that he had done while he had not done it. So he sent some companions to the well, which the two kings described to him as the presence of magic, and they took it out, and found eleven knots embroidered with needles in it, so Surat Al-Falaq was revealed, so whenever he read a verse, the knot was loosened, and he stood up as if there was nothing in it.

Introducing Surat Al-Falaq

Surat Al-Falaq is one of the Meccan suras, and it was mentioned by some of the people of interpretation that it is one of the civil suras. Because the reason for its revelation was in the magic of the Jews for the Prophet - upon him be blessings and peace - while he was in Medina. The number of its verses is five verses, the number of its words is twenty-three words, and the number of its letters is seventy-one letters, and its arrangement in the Qur’an is 113, located in the thirtieth part, as for the reason for its name with “Al-Falaq”, because it opened with the mention of Al-Falaq; And it's the morning.

It is also called Surat Qul I seek refuge in the Lord of the Falaq, and it is called with Surat Al-Nas Al-Mu’awdhatain, and it was revealed after Surat Al-Fil, and before Surat Al-Nas, and the surah began with the command “say”, and it is one of the suras in which the word “God” is not mentioned in it, and the surah deals with the proof of the unification of divinity divinity; By teaching the Prophet - upon him be peace and blessings - and his nation to hold fast to God and how to seek refuge in Him from the evils of what He created from envious people and sorcerers, and that God Almighty is the protector of His servants from all harm and evil, and that the Muslim should protect himself from all apparent and hidden evils, by reading Surat Al-Falaq and others. The virtues of Surat Al-Falaq

The merits of Surat Al-Falaq are mentioned in many authentic hadiths Interpretation of Surat Al-Falaq A group of virtues were mentioned with Surat Al-Nas, and among these virtues:

  2. God Almighty's love for her, and the Prophet - upon him be peace and blessings be upon him - urged the one who is able to read it in every prayer. It was reported that the Prophet - upon him be blessings and peace - read it in the Witr prayer, and recommended some of the honorable companions to investigate reading it in prayer.
  3. The Prophet - upon him be peace and blessings be upon him - sought refuge with it in the wind and intense darkness, so a person did not seek refuge with the like of it, nor did he seek refuge with the like of it, and the desirability of reading it with Surat Al-Nas when sleeping.
