Samsung is preparing to announce the Galaxy S23 at its upcoming Unpacked event scheduled for February 1st. There is a lot of hype surrounding the upcoming flagship smartphones of the Korean company, especially as they will probably be among the most anticipated Android phones this year.
With less than two weeks left until the upcoming event, many leaks have spread about the series phones. A few hours ago, another set of leaks spread, but it details the full specifications of the entire Galaxy S23 lineup, leaving nothing to chance at the announcement event.
The first leak comes from the German website WinFuture and lists the full specifications of both Galaxy S23 andGalaxy S23 Plus. Both phones will continue to have Super AMOLED screens of 6.1 and 6.6 inches respectively, but the new addition here is that these screens will be protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The refresh rate will remain unchanged at 120Hz. At the moment, no details have been mentioned regarding any increase in the peak brightness rate.
The leak confirms that the two phones will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, which will be based on 8GB of RAM. The two phones will also come with the same rear camera setup as their predecessors. Samsung plans to upgrade the front camera to a 12MP camera with f/2.2 aperture, up from the 10MP camera in the S22 series. The new front camera will also be able to record 4K videos at 60fps.
A noticeable change will include a larger 200mAh battery on both models: 3,900mAh in the Galaxy S23 and 4,700mAh in the S23 Plus. The fast charging capability will apparently remain unchanged, with the smaller Galaxy supporting up to 25W wired charging and the S23 Plus being able to reach a maximum speed of 45W. Combined with the 4nm efficient Snapdragon chip, Samsung phones other than the Ultra version should provide better battery life this year.
Also interestingly, the Galaxy S23 could be launched with 128 or 256 GB of storage, while the base version of the S23 Plus will pack 256 or 512 GB of storage. According to the leak, this will also be the first time since the Galaxy S20 Plus in 2020 that Samsung plans to introduce its own Plus model with 512GB of internal storage.
Based on the report, Samsung will offer free storage upgrades on Galaxy S23 pre-orders in several countries. So, if you pre-order the 256GB version of the S23 Plus, you will get the 512GB variant without paying more. The S23 lineup will be launched in black, green, lavender, and white colours.
What about the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra?
Another leak revealed all promotional materials and images for all series phones, including Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Specs and Price.
Most of what was mentioned in that leak agrees with many of the details that we already know, which are a 5000 mAh battery, a 200 MP main camera, a 12 MP front camera, and an internal storage capacity of 1 TB.
The most notable surprise in that leak is that it indicated Samsung's intention to use LPDDR5 RAM, not the faster and more energy-efficient LPDDR5X. In certain markets, the base version of the S23 Ultra will launch with 8GB, while other regions and markets will get a 12GB version with up to 1TB of internal storage.
In terms of software, all Galaxy S23 lineup phones will run on the Android 13 operating system, which will be based on the One UI 5.1 operating system.
Another report from 9to5Google indicates that the Galaxy S23 lineup may come with a price addition of up to $ 100 more than the 2022 phones, in some markets. It is not clear if price hikes could also occur in Asia and the Middle East.
