Samsung has officially launched its new phone Galaxy S23 FE which is a cheap economical version of its flagship phones from the Galaxy S23 series. In this phone, the Korean company preserved many of the features of the flagship series phones, most notably the design, but with certainly some concessions in order for the phone to be offered at a cheaper price.
If we compare the phone, for example, with the Galaxy S23, we will find that they both come with a Dynamic Amoled 2X screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz, but the new phone’s screen comes with a lower brightness of up to 1450nits and is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 instead of Victus 2. There is also a difference in the size of the screen, but it is in favor of the Galaxy S23 FE comes with a 6.4-inch screen instead of 6.1-inch.
The processor has also been replaced in the cheaper version of the series phones. In the United States, users will get the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip found in the Galaxy S22 series phones, while in the rest of the world, users will get the Exynos 2200. This chip is supposed to be equivalent in performance to the chip used in the United States, but we have not yet seen it in any phone because Samsung decided last year to launch its flagship phones entirely with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip.
Samsung kept the same primary camera that comes in both phones, with a resolution of 50 megapixels and an f/1.8 lens aperture, supported by an optical stabilizer. The same thing happened with the Ultra Wide camera, which remained with the same 12-megapixel resolution and f/2.2 lens aperture, while replacing the telephoto camera with another one with 8-megapixel resolution and 3x optical zoom capability.
As the size of the phone increases, it makes sense for the battery to become larger. The battery in this phone has a capacity of 4500 mAh with support for 25-watt fast charging, while maintaining support for wireless charging and removing reverse wireless charging.
