It's been a few months since Honor separated from its parent company Huawei Where I resigned and became a separate company. Since then, the company hasn't released a flagship phone yet, but it could do so very soon.
If the latest reports from China are to be believed, the Honor brand is expected to launch its flagship smartphone in July this year. The device is likely to be part of the Honor Magic series.
The smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor which we have seen previously in many phones like Xiaomi Mi 11 andOppo Find X3 Pro But apart from that, nothing is known about this device. Since the launch is only a few months away, we expect to learn more about it in the coming weeks or months.
In December last year, Honor CEO Zhao Ming told fans that the company had plans to launch flagship smartphones in the future and that the brand would own its own Mate series devices andP-series.
Since Honor is now an independent brand, the company can easily get required components from vendors which were not possible under Huawei due to the sanctions imposed by the United States due to the ongoing trade war between the United States and China.
In fact, Honor is already in talks with companies like Qualcomm and MediaTek to come up with a deal to buy processors for use in the brand's upcoming devices. The company is also in talks with Google to get support for installing its own services.
Honor is also expanding its footprint, starting with its own Honor Mall online store and new stores in several countries which is a good strategy for the company to establish its own path away from Huawei.
