We will still wait until the beginning of next year until we see the expected phone from the majority of the smartphone world, which is Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. In fact, the ceiling of our expectations has risen, in fact, after many leaks and news spread during the last period confirming that Samsung intends to add many changes and upgrades to its next flagship phone, and most of them will be in the camera department, and you can read more on that subject here.
Now we know more about the upcoming Samsung flagship phone, thanks to the phone’s certification on the Chinese agency TENAA, which reveals many details regarding the phone’s specifications, some of which are very surprising and somewhat surprising.
Galaxy S23 Ultra Specs
Most of the specifications are in line with the expectations of experts and analysts. We have the same 6.8-inch AMOLED screen with QHD + quality that is in the S22 Ultra but there is no word yet on the peak brightness, which is expected to be 2,100 lumens, which will give the S23 Ultra the brightest screen title ever, but it's all just talk on paper until it's time for the actual experience on the ground.
It seems settled regarding the chip that the phone will operate on, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor from Qualcomm will be present, which was expected and in line with the company's policy of including the most powerful and latest electronic chips in its flagship phones.
The internal configuration seems somewhat surprising, there will be only two RAM capacities of 8 and 12 GB, with an internal storage capacity of 256 or 512 GB and 1 TB. The lack of a 16 GB RAM version seems kind of disappointing, isn't it?
The most prominent development from my point of view will be in the rear camera, it seems that the presence of a basic camera with a resolution of 200 megapixels is almost settled, the difference lies in the accuracy of the rest of the accompanying sensors.
Previous sources confirmed that there will be two 10-megapixel telephoto sensors, just like in last year's phone, but the Chinese listing confirmed that Samsung will include two improved 12-megapixel sensors instead.
The S22 Ultra came with a 5,000 mAh battery, so many expected that the next phone would come with the same battery capacity, but the TENAA listing revealed that the Galaxy S23 Ultra will come with a 4,855 mAh battery. This appears to be a decrease compared to last year's battery but in reality, this is just a strange procedure from Samsung and the performance of both batteries will be identical in fact.
Last but not least, the listing shows that the dimensions of the phone will be 163.4 x 78.1 x 8.9 mm and its weight will be 233 grams, which will make it slightly taller and wider than the S22 Ultra whose dimensions are (163.3 x 77.9 x 8.9 mm).
After reviewing the most prominent specifications of the expected phone, we can say with open arms that it will be a true successor to the 2022 phone and one of the most prominent phones that will undoubtedly sweep the arena in 2023.
