If you are thinking of buying the Galaxy S22 FE you should cancel the plans. It seems that the Galaxy S21 FE will be the last Samsung phone that will come with the most prominent specifications of the flagship Galaxy S series phones with an affordable and affordable price.
According to Sammobile, several sources inside Samsung claim that the Galaxy S22 FE has been scrapped, and that the phone, which was supposed to have the model number SM-S900, is no longer in the company's database.
Galaxy S22 FE likely won't see the light
After the news spread, DDCC CEO Ross Young confirmed on Twitter that Samsung has already settled on canceling any plans related to the production of Galaxy S22 FE because of studies that expected a decrease in demand.
This isn't the first time we've heard odds of a Galaxy S22 FE possibly cancelled. Back in April, several sources in South Korea claimed that the cheaper version of the Galaxy S22 isn't expected to arrive this year.
Honestly, it would be surprising for Samsung to launch the Galaxy S22 FE any time next year, especially after this news spread. There is no good reason to have the FE now that Samsung has done a good job in keeping the category of phones above the middle especially with the versions of the Galaxy A series like Samsung Galaxy A73.
Galaxy A phones are the perfect alternative
Samsung has made a noticeable effort in producing better mid-range phones in recent years, as most of the releases included a lot of premium specifications at the same time at affordable prices.
Samsung launched a phone that is a clear example of the sincerity of its intentions which is Galaxy A53. We have a 120Hz AMOLED display, a decent Snapdragon processor, support to receive updates just like the Galaxy S series phones, and at just $450 which is $250 cheaper than S21 FE.
Hence, it is no wonder that this phone is really special and among the best devices in the mid-range category in terms of value for money.
With so many excellent options in the flagship and mid-segment, there is simply no category set for the S22 FE. And that's unless Samsung is going to reinvent a different concept of what the FE is.
For the past two releases, the FE was a low-cost alternative to Samsung's more expensive flagships, but this category has now been filled by the best Galaxy A series phones, which is reason enough for Samsung to shift its attention and focus its efforts on other phones.
