3 giant changes expected in OnePlus 11, here are the details

It has already been confirmed that the upcoming OnePlus 11 phone will officially arrive with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, which is according to what the company itself officially confirmed through a post on WeiboBut is this the highlight of what the next phone will come with? Certainly not.

The upcoming OnePlus phone will come with three big upgrades expected other than the new chip, if the rumors that have spread over the past few hours are to be believed.

An expected increase in RAM capacity?!

While the previous phone, the OnePlus 10 Pro, already comes with a giant RAM capacity of 12 GB, OnePlus 11 is expected to come with an upgrade in that aspect, bringing the RAM to 16 GB.

This upgrade makes the phone on par with Samsung Galaxy S21 UltraRidiculously better than Galaxy S22 Ultra Which comes from a maximum RAM capacity of only 12GB.

UFS 4.0

It is also expected that the phone will get another upgrade represented in the UFS 4.0 storage capacity, as it will be one of the first phones that will come with this feature, which will add speed and smoothness to the performance of the OnePlus 11.

While UFS 3.1 may read and write speeds of up to 2100MB/s and 1200MB/s, UFS 4.0 raises read speeds to 4200MB/s and 2800MB/s respectively. Speeds per lane can also reach 23.2Gbps, double what the previous generation achieved. You can also expect a 46% improvement in efficiency, which means battery life will improve in return, which is definitely a welcome addition.

OnePlus 11 may come with a ceramic design

Finally, a source with a good track record of reliability confirmed that the OnePlus 11 will come with a metal frame with a ceramic body. This isn't new to the company, as it was previously used on both the OnePlus X released in 2015 and a special edition OnePlus 10 Pro last year.

But this may not be certain, as technical blogger Max Jambor said that this ceramic design we may not see in the end, but on the other hand, he confirmed that the phone will come with UFS 4.0 technology.

Will OnePlus 11 be the Pro version?

While that claim may cause confusion among users, if ever there was a company that needed a simple lineup for its smartphones, it's OnePlus. In 2022, we didn't get the basic OnePlus 10, but we did get a handful of other phones which are OnePlus 10 Pro, OnePlus 10T, OnePlus Nord 2T and OnePlus Nord CE 2.

The limited lineup of phones may reduce consumer choices, but it will certainly make things less confusing in 2023. In any case, this matter remains with the source and has not been confirmed or denied by the company yet.
