Today's Galaxy Unpacked event was very busy as it witnessed the announcement of many exciting products that come with distinctive technologies and modern features, and one of the most prominent of these devices is Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, a wonderful foldable phone that comes with many features that make it the best witness to the development of the South Korean company in this category of devices.
The Galaxy Z Flip is a unique phone in that it is marketed as a fashion accessory, rather than a foldable phone in the same category as the Galaxy Z Fold. Needless to say, it has also been the cheapest foldable phone on top since the first phone in the series was launched which has contributed to its popularity, so will the Z Flip 4 follow suit?
Modern design with improved screen
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 comes with a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED display with a resolution of 2640 x 1080 pixels with FHD+ quality, we have the same external display found in Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 which has a size of 1.9 inches and an AMOLED model as well.
The screen's adaptive refresh rate is 120Hz, a feature we've gotten used to a lot in recent Samsung flagships over the past few years, which means that the screen delivers a more accurate refresh rate depending on the content displayed and thus has a gentler effect on battery drain.
The Z Flip 4 display may be Samsung's latest generation M12 OLED which is also rumored to be the same screen in iPhone 14 Pro Max, this screen offers higher brightness, lower power consumption, and better refresh rate adjustments.
The new Samsung clamshell phone comes with youthful and attractive color options that correspond to modern tastes: yellow, white, navy, khaki and red, in addition to the frame that can be either silver or painted in black or gold tones.
Powerful chip to ensure great performance
The Galaxy Z Flip 4 is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, so the phone already uses the fastest processor out there in the Android world at the moment.
Only 8GB of RAM is paired with a base storage of 128GB and a medium storage of 256GB, but also with a model that comes with a whopping 512GB of storage, something we've never seen in a foldable phone in this price range before. .
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 camera
We have a 12MP wide-angle main camera with Samsung's dual autofocus technology, optical image stabilization, and the aperture here is F/1.8.
The 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera with F/2.2 aperture appears to be borrowed directly from the Z Fold 3, as is the 10MP front camera.
Thus, there are no drastic upgrades to the Galaxy Z Flip 4's camera hardware as in the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and you can expect to take better photos thanks to the upgraded image processing provided by the powerful Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chip, also as improved software algorithms.
We also have a new Camcorder Mode that lets you use the phone by bending it 90 degrees and holding the bottom in the palm of your hand, while recording and previewing video with the top. This is certainly not a revolutionary technology in the world of technology and with regard to the camera in particular, but it is certainly a feature that greatly facilitates the experience of use.
Battery and fast charging
Perhaps the biggest improvement in the Galaxy Z Flip 4 over the Z Flip 3 is better battery life and faster charging times. The larger 3,700mAh battery pack now ensures longer run times, while the Z Fold 3's 15W charging speed turns into "super fast charging" which will be achieved with a 25W charger and then can charge up to 50% in about 30 one minute.
