Over the past few weeks, several press reports have stated that Samsung intends to unveil its next flagship smartphone series in the first half of February 2023. However, the actual launch date has not been decided. Today, we now have a more accurate date.
According to the famous technical blogger IceUniverse, Samsung has set a date of February 1, 2023 in order to hold the Galaxy Unpacked event to officially unveil the Samsung Galaxy S23 series. After that, it is also rumored that the Galaxy S23 series will be officially launched for sale in major markets two weeks after the official announcement, and all series phones will reach all markets in the world by the end of March 2023.
What can we expect from the Galaxy S23 series?
The Galaxy S23 series will come with several improvements in terms of screen brightness, rear camera sensors, and performance. All three phones are also expected to come with today's fastest and most powerful chip, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, faster LPDDR5X RAM, and UFS 4.0 internal storage.
Galaxy S23 Ultra will continue to use the same 5,000mAh battery we saw in last year's phone, but it can contain both Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Plus on slightly larger batteries.
The Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23 Plus will continue to rely on a 50MP primary camera, while the Galaxy S23 Ultra's main sensor will be upgraded to 200MP. All front cameras of the three phones will also be upgraded to 12MP sensors that support OIS. All phones will run Android 13 pre-installed and have a larger ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.
Samsung could provide the Galaxy S23 series with emergency satellite connectivity just like the iPhone 14 series. All three phones are also likely to feature GPS support, 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, a USB Type-C port, and aggressively fast charging. 45 watts, stereo speakers, IP68 rating for water and dust protection, support for fast wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.
