After many months have passed since the phone was officially launched, the iPhone 14 Plus proved that it did not succeed in achieving strong sales. Apple certainly takes this into account and it seems that it will make a revolutionary breakthrough in the next phone, as we got the iPhone 13 Mini after the previous generation failed to make any impact and leave a mark, it seems that we are on our way to see iPhone 15 Plus Later this year, too.
Anyone expecting a major design change will be disappointed if the new design renderings posted by 9to5Mac prove accurate, but anything is possible in the world of smartphones, right?!
As shown in the image above, if you compare the design of this upcoming phone with the current model, you won't notice much of the change. Yes, there is good news that the Dynamic Island feature will not remain exclusive to the Pro models, which was expected for a long time, but other than that, the screen size and shape of the phone remain almost identical.
There's one more thing we noticed in that photo: the edges are more rounded than last year's model, which might mean the phone will look less flat overall, though it's not something you'll notice without looking closely.
The biggest shift and welcome change, of course, is on the bottom of the phone: we don't see the Lightning port anymore, and you can see the familiar circular USB-C port between the two speaker grilles.
Will Apple succeed in the second attempt with the iPhone 15 Plus?
With the iPhone 14 Plus still struggling in the market to attract buyers, it's hard to imagine the subtle changes being touted here stimulating a large segment of potential new buyers. But as we mentioned earlier, what will really change the convictions about that phone is the hardware, and perhaps the improved rear camera, it will be the dazzling presence of the dynamic island and the performance par with the iPhone 14 Pro The A16 chip is enough to entice second time buyers.
Also, part of the iPhone 14 Plus problem may stem from its somewhat inappropriate pricing. Apple announced the phone at $ 899, this pricing is $ 100 higher than the smaller 6.1-inch iPhone 14, but $ 100 less than the iPhone 14 Pro with much better specifications. The Plus version is stuck in a time hole, proving beyond any doubt that it is too expensive for budget buyers and not attractive enough for those who can afford to pay a higher price.
Apple could rectify that, of course - by either making the Plus model cheaper or the Pro model more affordable. But doing either could hurt sales of other phones in the series, making the balancing act difficult.
Hopefully, Apple will learn its lesson and include enough features in the iPhone 15 Plus that it can entice more buyers this time around. If not, the Plus version may go down the same dark path as the Mini version.
