Huawei's Nova series has always been known for offering stylish, affordable smartphones packed with great features. The new phone, the most powerful addition to the Huawei Nova 12 Ultra series, aims to take the user experience to the next level, promising a pioneering experience without paying a high price. But does this phone live up to the hype? We've spent a few days with the Nova 12 Ultra, and here's our in-depth review.
So, without further elaboration on the details, here are the specifications and price of the Huawei Nova 12 Ultra, all its features, and a comprehensive user guide for everything related to the entire phone, in addition to a comprehensive review in which we explore the phone together, learn about its pros and cons, and reach together the most important decision, which is whether this phone is worth buying or not. Are there better options in that price bracket?
The Nova 12 Ultra impresses with its elegant and modern design. The curved edges and rear camera module give it a premium look and feel, which is definitely what we expect to see in a phone in this fast segment. The 6.76-inch OLED display is a joy to behold, with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and an impressive resolution of 2776 x 1224 pixels. Colors are vibrant and sharp, viewing angles are excellent, and overall this screen is very perfect in all usage conditions just like the one in Pro version.
The Nova 12 Ultra is powered by the Kirin 9000S processor, which is a powerful chipset that can handle even the most demanding tasks with ease. We didn't experience any lag at all, whether while gaming, multitasking, or even editing photos and videos.
The phone comes with a storage capacity of 512 GB or 1 TB, which is more than enough for most users. The 4,600 mAh battery is also impressive, lasting a full day on a single charge with moderate use. And when you're running low on charge, 100W fast charging can take you from 0 to 100% in just 30 minutes.
The camera system is among the Nova 12 Ultra's commendable features. The dual triple rear camera setup consists of a 50-megapixel main sensor with variable aperture, and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens. The camera takes stunning images in almost any lighting conditions, with rich colors, excellent detail and precise balance. The ultra-wide lens is great for capturing wide landscapes and group shots. The 60MP front camera with a secondary 8MP telephoto sensor also captures excellent selfies, even in low-light scenarios.
The Nova 12 Ultra runs on HarmonyOS 4.0 operating system, which is equal. EMUI 13 is a smooth and easy-to-use interface with lots of customization options. However, it is important to note that the phone does not come with Google Mobile Services (GMS). This means you won't be able to access popular Google apps like Gmail, Maps, and YouTube out of the box. You can sideload these apps, but that can be a bit difficult.
The price of Huawei Nova 12 Ultra is as follows, which you can learn more about here:
The Huawei Nova 12 Ultra is a great flagship phone that offers excellent performance, a stunning display, a versatile camera system, and a stylish design. While the lack of Google services may be a drawback for some users, it's worth considering if you're looking for a powerful, stylish phone at a competitive price, but if it's released in your local market. Unfortunately, we do not recommend this phone for you if you are interested in a professional rear camera or support for wireless charging and 5G networks.
