Xiaomi officially unveiled the 12s series in China during a dedicated event. The new series consists of three distinct phones that are sure to make a stir in the markets during the coming period. Xiaomi 12S Ultra Specs
Xiaomi 12S Ultra is definitely the best phone in the series. Its powerful specifications and many features make it one of the best Android phones this year in general.
Starting with the design, as the phone features a smooth leather finish with a Gorilla Glass Victus interface with an aluminum frame surrounding the screen. We also have a dedicated rectangular space on the back that houses the circular camera module.
The pleasant surprise is that these rear sensors are designed by the leading photographic company Leica. Notably, the circular camera unit bumper is also made with a 23 karat gold bezel.
At the same time, the front of the phone has minimal bezels and a camera with a hole punch-hole centered at the top of the screen. The phone also comes with an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. The company has also focused on its cooling system, with new and improved thermal management.

Under the hood, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra is powered by a large 4,860 mAh battery that supports 67W fast charging. Although it also supports 50W fast wireless charging and even 10W reverse charging as well. With wired charging, the device can be charged to 50 percent in just 15 minutes, while wireless charging can help to reach 40 percent in 15 minutes.
Thanks to the new collaboration between Xiaomi and Leica, the 12S Ultra features a Leica Summicron lens system on the back. The device features a triple camera setup consisting of a primary camera which is a Sony IMX989 sensor that has a large 1-inch sensor and a 50MP resolution.
The main lens comes with HyperOIS and is capable of recording 8K quality videos as well. Furthermore, it is paired with a 48MP ultra-wide lens, and a 48MP telephoto lens that offers up to 120x zoom and supports OIS.
The Xiaomi 12S Ultra is available in two color options, black and green. It was launched in multiple versions, with the 8 + 256 GB model starting at $896. While the price of the 12 + 256 GB version is $ 971, while the higher version 12 GB + 512 GB costs $ 1045. The unfortunate news is that this wonderful phone will be exclusive to the Chinese market only.
Xiaomi 12s and 12s Pro Specs
Xiaomi 12s and 12s Pro are a bit different from each other apart from some similar specs. Starting with the screen, the regular version features a 6.28-inch screen, while the Pro model features a larger 6.73-inch screen. Both screens are AMOLED and feature FHD+ quality and a refresh rate of 120Hz.
On the photographic front, the Xiaomi 12S series is equipped with Leica-branded rear cameras. The 12's rear camera setup includes a 50MP primary sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide lens, and a 5MP macro sensor.
on the other side, Xiaomi 12s Pro has a 50MP Sony IMX707 camera with OIS support, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom. Both phones are equipped with a 32MP front camera.
Under the hood, both phones are equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor. Both devices pack up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
Xiaomi 12s is powered by a 4,500mAh battery with 67W wired charging support, while the Pro model is powered by a 4,600mAh battery with 120W fast charging support. Both smartphones also come with 50W wireless support and 10W reverse wireless charging.
Xiaomi 12s and 12s Pro come with other common features which are a fingerprint sensor under the screen, Gorilla Glass Victus protection layer on the front and back, Android 12 operating system with MIUI 13 interface, Dual SIM support, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, IR blaster, NFC, and USB Type-C port.
