Xiaomi Redmi K40 series specs comparison

The new Redmi K40 devices come with a very modern design, which is far from the series of Redmi K30 that was launched last year.

Instead of the rear camera unit that was located in the center of the back of the phone, the new phones feature a rectangular camera unit aligned to the left similar to the one on the Xiaomi Mi 11.

The design boom continues as the Redmi brand has been moved to a new position closer to the left edge. Things aren't much different up front, except for the new central hole that houses the front camera.

The real differences between all the series phones are the internal hardware, as the new devices come with the newly disclosed processors, we start with the Redmi K40 which comes with the new Snapdragon 870 octa-core processor from Qualcomm

While both of Redmi K40 Pro and Redmi K40 Pro Plus comes with Snapdragon 888 processor, the most powerful SOC in the Android world today.

These processors are coupled with a RAM capacity of 12 GB and 256 GB of internal storage space for the higher version of the standard version.

While the Pro versions come with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage as well.

All three devices feature a large 4,520 mAh battery and a convenient stereo speaker, with two tweeters also located on both the top and bottom edge. This should not be confused with the bogus stereo speaker setup we've seen on some phones in the past, which uses the earpiece as a secondary amplifier.

The Redmi K40 series has received some major improvements in the front camera. Redmi K40 Pro comes with a triple rear camera consisting of a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 5MP macro sensor.

The standard version features the same rear camera setup but with a 48MP primary sensor. While the Redmi K40 Pro Plus has the most impressive rear camera setup, with a 108MP primary sensor while the rest of the sensors are the same.

In terms of software, all three phones work with MIUI 12 based on Android 11.
