Vivo officially announces the X80 series with amazing specifications

Back in September, Vivo announced three new premium phones, as it launched two phones in the upper mid-range: X70 and X70 Pro in addition to a flagship phone, which is X70 Pro Plus. We really liked the latest phone that can stand up to any flagship from any other brand.

Vivo did not wait long and today it officially announced the X80 and X80 Pro in China. Let's dive into the specifications and price of the new Vivo premium phones.

vivo X80 Pro Specs

vivo X80 Pro is definitely the best phone in the series, and you can buy the phone in two versions that come with either the Mediatek Dimensity 9000 processor or the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The rest of the phone’s specifications are identical in both versions, as it features a 6.78-inch LTPO OLED display with QHD+ quality, 120Hz refresh rate, a 4700 mAh battery, 80W wired fast charging, and 50W wireless charging.

Vivo has also introduced an in-screen ultrasonic fingerprint sensor in this phone, and this device follows in the footsteps of the iQOO 9 series andvivo X Note by providing a much larger scanning area than traditional in-display optical fingerprint sensors. In fact, Vivo says the scanning area is 11 times larger than that of conventional optical fingerprint sensors. This also allows two fingerprints to be scanned simultaneously.

The Pro version comes with a very familiar rear camera module, we have a 50MP main camera (with OIS), a 48MP IMX598 ultra-wide-angle lens, a 12MP telephoto sensor that supports up to 2x optical zoom, and an 8MP periscope telephoto camera that supports up to 5x true zoom .

Other notable features of vivo X80 Pro include 32MP front camera, IP68 water and dust protection, Vivo V1 Plus imaging chip, dual stereo speakers, NFC, Android 12 operating system, and Origin OS user interface.

vivo X80 Specs

vivo X80

Looking for a slightly cheaper option? Then the vivo X80 Standard Edition might be the perfect candidate for you. The phone works on the Dimensity 9000 processor, which is the same processor found in the flagship Pro version, but in return the phone comes with some concessions in some other aspects.

We have a 6.78-inch FHD+ OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, a 4,500mAh battery, and 80W wired charging that can charge the battery from 0 to 100% in just 34 minutes. Unfortunately, there is no support for wireless charging here or a new fingerprint scanner, we have a traditional sensor built under the screen instead.

vivo X80 also has a 50MP main camera (with OIS), a 12MP ultra-wide lens, and a 12MP telephoto lens that supports 2x optical zoom.

Interestingly, the primary camera is an all-new IMX866 sensor that features an RGBW color filter to improve the camera's performance in low-light conditions. Vivo also appears to have replaced the gimbal with the more traditional OIS.

Other notable specifications include the V1 Plus imaging chip, dual stereo speakers, NFC, and Origin OS.

Vivo X80 series phones price

Unfortunately, the vivo X80 series will only be dedicated to the Chinese market for now. However, the standard version is priced at $565 for the 8/128GB version, down to $748 for the 12/512GB version.

Do you think vivo X80 Pro is a better option? So you'll pay $840 for the 8/256GB version. The 12/256GB version will cost you $916, while the higher-end 12/512GB model will sell for $1023.

The Dimensity 9000 processor version is not available for the 8/256GB version, but you'll pay the same price for the 12/256GB and 12/512GB versions.
