iPhone 13 series could finally come with LTPO display with 120Hz refresh rate

We've seen that screen technology on models iPad Pro. Surprisingly, Apple has refrained from introducing the feature of high refresh rate in iPhone devices. This may be because this technology consumes more battery power compared to a standard 60Hz monitor. The California-based tech giant will make use of LTPO OLED panels to help preserve some battery life.

The report states that Samsung and LG Display have begun an industrial conversion process from LTPS displays to LTPO OLED displays. It is likely to be completed in the first half of 2021. However, the capacity will be lower than previously due to additional steps in the development process. Apple BOE in China may produce more LTPO displays.

It was expected that Apple would release a series iPhone 12 With LTPO display with 120Hz refresh rate. Rumors indicated that the company was considering choosing between 5G and a display with a high refresh rate because including both would drain the battery faster than usual. Apple launched the iPhone 12 with 5G and it looks like we will see the next iPhone with a screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz.

As for the phones that will support this feature, it is expected that it will be the Pro version, while the standard version and the Pro version will come with a screen with a standard refresh rate of 60 Hz.
