Galaxy A34 5G and Galaxy A54 5G arrive with more advanced cameras and long-lasting battery life

Samsung unveiled its two latest phones in the popular mid-range Galaxy A series, which are Galaxy A54 5G and Galaxy A34 5G. Many details about the phones have been leaked in the past few weeks, but now they are official, and their specifications reveal that they are a candidate for the title of the best phones in the middle class this year. Now, let's see what these amazing phones bring to the table.

Design and display

The design looks similar to the design of last year's phones, but with some new colors to choose from. Both phones come in four color options, which are white, black, silver, and purple. Both phones also feature an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance.

The differences in looks between the two phones are minimal, but they're still noteworthy, so here we go.

The A54 5G comes with a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED screen that supports a 120Hz refresh rate, while the A34 5G comes with a slightly larger 6.6-inch screen. The company says that the screens of the two phones have been upgraded for better visibility outdoors and under sunlight.

Specs of the two phones

Starting with the cameras, there are some notable changes in the camera department compared to what we saw last year. At first, the Galaxy A54's camera specifications may seem like a letdown to some - the main sensor now comes in at 50MP instead of 64MP - but Samsung has included several improvements on the software side that aim to take the camera experience to the next level.

Galaxy A54 and A34 5G feature night photography and AI features for better photos. OIS has been upgraded for the two phones as well.

Also, Samsung highlights the 32MP front camera of the Galaxy A54 which should provide great detail in video calls and selfies.

It is worth noting that the A54 5G comes with a 50-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 5-megapixel macro camera. Its slightly cheaper sibling comes with a 48MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 5MP macro lens.

The Galaxy A54 5G works on the Exynos 1380 chip, which is based on 6 or 8 GB of RAM along with 128 or 256 GB, while the Galaxy A34 5G uses a Dimensity 1080 processor with the same RAM and internal storage options as well. In terms of software, we have the Android 13 operating system, One UI 5.1 user interface.

And last but not least, for the first time on a Galaxy A-series device, you'll be able to use software-enhanced editing tools to remove unwanted shadows or reflections from your photos.

The two phones share the same battery, which is a 5000 mAh lithium polymer cell that supports 25W fast charging.

Price and availability in the markets

The two phones will be available in March, starting in select markets in Europe and Southeast Asia. For Middle East and South America, at present, Samsung has not announced the official availability date.

The Galaxy A34 comes at a price of 390 euros for the 6 + 128 GB version, while the Galaxy A54 starts at 490 euros, and there are no other details about the two phones at the present time.
