Apple event 2020: iPhone 12 series, Apple Watch 6, and more

Apple unveils its new iPhone series every fall, and that usually comes with great fanfare. But while the event happens every year at the same time, the level of anticipation is certainly still high. Of course, there's a good reason for that - while the new iPhone 12 series alone is reason enough to get excited, Apple usually also reveals other devices, like the new Apple Watch model, and maybe a few surprises as well.

This year could be a little different. Rumors have been circulating for months about the possibility of delaying the launch of new Apple devices due to supply problems. Some rumors suggest that although Apple will announce the iPhones at the usual time, they won't be available until a while after the official announcement. In addition to the launch of the new iPhones, we are expecting some other announcements.

Here's everything we can expect to see at Apple's event, which usually takes place in mid-September but could happen this year in October due to the fallout from the coronavirus.

iPhone 12

The main event, of course, will center around the launch of iPhone 12Which is expected to mark the first drastic change in iPhone design since the company launched a phone iPhone X. But it may not be as different as some would like. Although the rounded edges will probably be replaced, like the iPad Pro, it's more likely to keep the notch.

Of course, perhaps the most significant change in the iPhone 12 is in the form of internal upgrades. The device will feature a next-generation processor, the A14 Bionic, which is expected to be the most powerful processor ever on a mobile phone. Not only that, but the iPhone 12 may come with a camera upgrade as well, and it's possible that at least some iPhone 12 series phones will support 5G. Apple is already expected to release as many as four iPhone 12 phones - including two low-end iPhone 11-like devices and two iPhone 12 Pro models. Here are the rest of the series phones that are expected to be released.

Apple Watch Series 6

Along with the next generation iPhone, we are also likely to get the next generation Apple Watch. This will be the third Apple Watch model since the redesign we saw on the Apple Watch Series 4, and it's likely that the watch will come with a similar, if not the same, design. The Apple Watch Series 6 should offer some interesting internal updates.

For starters, your Apple Watch Series 6 will likely have an updated processor. Not only that, but Apple may add some additional fitness tracking features — such as a blood oxygen monitoring feature.

Mid-range iPad

The next device to be announced is the iPad, and while a new generation of . has been launched iPad Pro Earlier in the year, Apple had not yet finished releasing large-screen devices. The upcoming iPad is expected to target the middle segment. The device launched at the beginning of this year has a screen size of 10.2 inches, but the screen of the new model may reach 10.8 inches. Unfortunately, the device will likely retain its current design, with a home button and relatively large bezels - although given how powerful it is, and the value you'll get for the price, that shouldn't be much of an issue for most people.

AirPods Studio

The AirPods series has been very popular with Apple, and it is expected to increase that audience with the launch of several future models. Perhaps most important is the new over-ear headphones, which will likely come with noise cancellation, and come in at $350. This headset will compete with other headphones such as the new Sony WH-1000XM4,Bose Headphones 700.

When it comes to features, AirPods Studio headphones will offer great integration with other Apple devices and will surely provide an outstanding audio experience to users.

What about other products

We don't expect to announce many other products from Apple at the event, but if the company is to release other devices, we have some ideas of what we could see.

We can see AirTags Bluetooth trackers that have been rumored for a while now. This device will act as a tracker, allowing users to use the Find My app to keep their most important belongings such as their wallet and keys. AirTags may offer AR support to help users find their items in the room.

Some rumors suggest that we could see a new Apple TV with an upgraded processor. But we don't have much information at the moment.

Apple will also commit to releasing a Mac with an upgraded Apple Silicone processor before the end of the year. However, it may not be launched at the upcoming iPhone event. Instead, the product will likely be revealed at another event later in the year, possibly in December.

We'll update this article when we hear more about upcoming Apple products.
